Depending on the type of development, a consent authority (Local Council) may insert a condition in the development consent (DA) that the Developer obtain a Section 73 Certificate from Sydney Water. Should this be the case then the Developer will need to engage a WSC to lodge an Application for Section 73 to Sydney Water.	As a result of Application for a Section 73 Certificate, Sydney Water will issue via a WSC a Notice of Requirements (NOR) document. The NOR advises the Developer of requirements that must be met prior to Sydney Water issuing a Section 73 Certificate. The requirement may include Designing Sydney Water Assets. If building activity is proposed Over or Adjacent to Sydney Water Assets (Pipe), then a more compressive Sydney Water Building Plan Approval process may be required to ensure that the proposed work will not adversely affect Sydney Waters Assets.
